Ana isn't the least bit surprised when Tina shows up at her house the next day to ask how the date went.
"I'll admit it. You were right, Tina. He's great." It almost pains Ana to say this, because she knows Tina will never let her forget it. She does like being told 'You're right.'
The next day, Ana is enjoying her lunch while her kids are at school, and Bridget is at work. She is taking it easy today, hasn't even changed out of her pajamas yet. A fact that nearly causes her to choke on her shrimp when she hears a knock on the door.

She hadn't been expecting Osmond. He called the day before to ask her on a second date, but he didn't mention anything about coming by today.
Of course, Ana is happy to see him, but she wishes he had not caught her in her pajamas. With a big window on her front door, she doesn't even have the chance to run to her room and change without him seeing her.
She invites him in.

"Go ahead and make yourself at home." She tells him. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna go make myself a little more presentable." Ana makes a quick trip to her room to change into actual clothes. Then joins him in the living room.
"So...what brings you by?"
"You." He says simply and pats the spot on the couch beside him. Ana obliges.

"I just wanted to see you, and didn't want to wait till the weekend. So I thought I'd surprise you."
"I'm glad you did." Ana says. A moment passes. The air is thick with tension. The good kind.

Then the tension breaks.
Honestly they get a little carried away.

Ana didn't mind getting carried away, but then she realizes her kids would be home soon. She doesn't want to ask him to leave, but she doesn't know if he's ready to meet her kids. She figures she should at least warm him.
He gets dressed immediately after she says her kids will be arriving soon. She follows suit. Then he gives her a quick kiss and is out the door before Ana knows what's happening. Did he think she was asking him to leave? Or was she right and he wasn't up for meeting her kids yet? They really had only had one date after all. But why did he leave so abruptly.
Ana doesn't have much time to worry about this, because ten minutes after Osmond leaves Bridget is home from work, two hours early.

"Mom, guess what?"
And then without pausing. "My friend Jaime just found a house to rent in Oasis Springs. She said if she has a roommate to split the rent she can afford it. And she asked me if I wanted to be her roommate."
"Mom, the place is huge. I can't believe it. She told me what my half of the rent would be, and I can totally afford it. I'm so excited." She finally takes a breath.
Ana wouldn't do anything to damper her daughter's enthusiasm, so she gives her a big hug. She jumps up and down in excitement with her and smiles as she listens to Bridget fill her in on all the details of the place.
And so the second of Ana's children will be moving out in a matter of days. At least it provides Ana with a bit of a distraction from over-thinking what had happened between her and Osmond.

But it turns out Osmond himself had no intention of leaving Ana hanging in the wind. He surprises her again the very next day. Ana sees him as he comes up the steps to the front porch just as she was beginning a new painting.
Ana could see apology written all over his face, but she decides not to let him off the hook that easily.

"Maybe I should just ask you to leave." She teases.
He sees right through the charade and gives a reluctant chuckle.

"But seriously, Ana, I really do feel terrible about rushing out of here yesterday. I'm sorry."
"There's really no need to apologize." Ana assures him.
"There really is." He insists.
"I understand you not wanting to meet my children so soon. Maybe in the future..." She trails off awkwardly not wanting to assume they'll still be seeing each other for any length of time. "I'm just glad you're here. I was sort of worried that after we slept together..."

"That's exactly what I was afraid of, and why an apology is needed. I'm not that type of guy. I swear that's not what I came over here for yesterday. What I'm trying to say is: I really like you, Ana. A lot. And I don't want to mess this thing up."
"I really like you too, Osmond." Then she leans in and whispers in his ear...

"And I really, really enjoyed your visit yesterday. You know I'd be open to a repeat performance..."
Osmond suddenly gets up. "Watcher! Ana, I'm trying to take things slow here!"
"Don't you want-" She doesn't get to finish her question, because before she can finish Osmond is kissing her. Kissing her like she's never been kissed before.

Well that answers that.
"Ana, I really would love a repeat of yesterdays activities. I really want. Trust me. But I want you to know that's not all I'm interested in. I actually wanted to ask you something.... I know this may seem a little bit rushed, and I feel too damn old to ask this. But... Would you like to be my girlfriend?"
Ana doesn't immediately say anything. She's stunned, and she realizes no one has ever asked her that question before. Should she take a chance?
Before she can respond Osmond is talking again. "I just know I'm not interested in seeing anyone else, and I really hope that you don't have anyone else in mind. I -"
Ana is the one to cut him off this time. "Yes!"
Before they can do or say anything else they see Tina walking up the sidewalk.

Ana enthusiastically thanks her again for introducing the two of them.
