***This scene takes place many years later - long after Ana and her younger kids get home from their camping trip.***
"I still wish you could come to the barbeque this Saturday." Aaron says as he's preparing supper.
"Me too, honey. I'd love to see your Mom. You'll just have to share the news yourself. I hate to miss it, but you know I don't have any vacation time at the moment." Annalise tells him.
"You know they're going to be so excited. You're going to miss their reaction. Are you sure you don't want me to wait? To tell them together?" Aaron asks again.

"Positive. I'll start showing soon, you know. I'd hate to run into Ana or someone who might tell her before we get to share the news ourselves. Plus, I'm not sure how long Avery and Anthony can keep the secret." Annalise says.
"Hey! We promised we wouldn't tell anyone at school until you said we could." Avery calls out from the table.

"I know, but you don't want to have to keep it secret much longer do you?" their mom asks.
"I sure don't! I can't wait to tell Martin and Sam I'm gonna have a little brother!" Anthony chimes in.
"You might end up with a little sister, runt." his big sister reminds.
"Ew. Don't say that! I don't want to be surrounded by girls!" Anthony whines.

"That's enough, Anthony. Do either of you need any help with your homework?" Annalise asks, changing the topic.
"Ugh. Yes, please. I can't figure out this stupid problem!" Avery says.
Together they figure it out after a few minutes.

"Thanks, Mama. Algebra is kicking my butt."
"No problem, baby. So are you guys looking forward to hanging out at your grandparent's place this weekend?"

"I am! We can go swimming in their new pool again, can't we?" Anthony asks.
"Of course, if you want to."

"Alrighty boys and girls, supper is ready! Come and get it!" Aaron calls from across the kitchen. And the little growing family sits down to enjoy the meal together.
