Brandon is not an easy-going baby. He demands more of his mom's attention than any of her other babies had. Ana is, of course, glad to have her baby boy, but she definitely will feel somewhat relieved when he ages up.
Between taking care of the high-maintenance Brandon and keeping up with the other kids and with everything that needs doing around the house, Ana is feeling unusually tired lately.

After waking up from yet another nap one day, Ana experiences a moment of nausea. And then she begins to suspect that her tiredness might not have been entirely due to being over-worked.
She wastes no time getting out a trusty pregnancy test. Her suspicions are confirmed. She is eating for two.

Many people might feel a moment (or more) of panic after finding out they were pregnant from a one-night-stand, but not Ana. She is delighted. She hasn't really thought about having any more babies since Arthur's untimely death, but now that she is expecting once more... it just feels right. The only thing that causes her a little bit of unease is thinking of how everyone else will take the news.
As far as Paxton, the father, she doesn't really have a way to get in touch with him. She doesn't spend too much time worrying about it though. She decides to ask around town a bit to see if she can find him.
She decides to wait until after Aaron's birthday to tell her kids the big news. For once she is thankful for the extra weight she has been carrying around, because he hopes that her baby bump isn't too noticeable.

That's right; believe it or not it is Aaron's birthday again. He is about to enter young-adulthood.
Ana wonders where all the time has gone.
And she's definitely a little sad that her first baby is now all grown up.
The next day Ana sets out to share her news with all her children.

Might as well start with the oldest first. When Ana looks at Aaron she is momentarily side-tracked.
"Ahh! What is on your face?!!"
"It's called a beard, Mom."
"I know that. I just mean... how did it grow so fast?"
"You know I am a man now." Is the only explanation Aaron offers. "Don't you like it?"
"Um... Yes, of course." Ana answers untruthfully. "You always look so handsome." That much was true; he always would be in her eyes. "Anyway, I had something I wanted to tell you." She steers the conversation back on track.

"Um...Mom, I don't know how to tell you this, but I kind of already knew."
"You did? Is it really that noticeable?"
"Yeah, pretty much."
Up next is Bridget. She didn't seem very surprised either, but she did have a question.

"So, are you gonna tell me how the father is?" Bridget asks eagerly.
I swear sometimes that girl thinks I'm her best friend instead of her mother, Ana thinks to herself. Then answers truthfully that it was with a guy in a 'one-time only' sort of situation. Giving as few details as possible, Ana is very relieved when she can leave Bridget to her homework.
She escapes to the boys' room.

The twins seemed pretty excited, and thankfully they don't ask many questions.
Mission accomplished, Ana heads to the kitchen to fix supper.

Maybe not the most conventional way to prepare a meal, especially while pregnant, but Ana has never been conventional.
The next day is yet another birthday. All her children growing up makes Ana thankful again to be expecting another baby.

Brandon is now a handsome little boy.
