She wants kids, and lots of them. She always has. And she has this feeling within her that her life won't be complete until she has a big family. She dreams of what it would feel like to have a child growing in her womb and of holding them in her arms. She just LOVES her children already, even though she hasn't had any yet.
She also knows that she will NEVER get married. Her mother's series of terrible marriages have made Ana sure she would never walk down the aisle herself.
Some people might see these two desires as conflicted, but not Ana. She is quite sure she can find an acceptable man or two... or more... whom she can persuade to father her children without wanting her to be a wife.
The first person she sees is a tattooed man with long brown hair. Something about him attracted Ana, even though she insists she isn't into bad-boy types. She introduced herself and learned that his name is Mitchell Lavine. They seem to be getting along pretty well. Maybe it's the beginning of a beautiful friendship....or maybe more.
The man nearest Devante whacks him on the back of the head. From then on Devante tries his best to control his anger, probably because he doesn't want to scare off the new member of the community. But Ana could tell he was still furious and concluded he must be a very ill-tempered person. She must remember not to get on Devante's bad side.
Tired from her move and little walk about the garden, Ana bids her new acquaintances goodbye for the day. As she heads towards home, Ana realizes she has already forgotten the names of everyone except Mitchell and Devante. Those two made an impact on her for vastly different reasons. But only one of them is on her mind as she laid down and tried to go to sleep that night. And she reminds herself that even though she is attracted to Mitchell, she does not want to get attached to a man. Really....she doesn't.....
